Week 8: Business that are similar to mine

The businesses that are similar to mine are Forever21. They are using many kinds of visual social media for their business as Facebook, Twitter, Google+, YouYube, Pinterest and Instagram. In their Instagram, they upload the pictures with matched clothes and accessories. Also they upload the pictures to show what kinds of accessories, clothes and cosmetics do they have. The people who followed their Instagram, they wrote the comments if they like the products or their matching sense.

The second business that are similar to mine is Urban Outfitters. They are using Instagram, Pinterst, Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, YouTube, Vimeo, and Google+. In their main page of YouTube, they uploaded the ads that introduce their app for Smartphone. Also they uploaded the video about how to dress well, how to tied the hair well, music videos and their catalogues.

I think the visual social media is effective for their business. Many people are followed their social media and react to their posts. I think it is good way to showcase their new business or new products easily. They can read the comments from their consumers so it is good way to improve their business.

Week 8: Visual

Because I have a fashion business, visual networks are the most important methods to inform people of my business. When we buy clothes, we are looking design first instead of materials or price. Therefore, if I want to sell clothes, I have to fascinate visually.

YouTube is a worldwide famous video uploading site. I never thought that I would be using YouTube for my business, but now I think YouTube will provide a good method to showcase my products to everybody. I can make style videos with my own products, and sometimes I can upload makeup videos for customers who have an interest in our products but having trouble with matching makeup to clothes or are weak at makeup. YouTube is internationally accessible so if I use it effectively, I will be able to get international customers. Also, I don't have to pay for uploading videos. YouTube is a good way to promote my products.

Instagram is a very simple social media site, based on images. We can upload our pictures with only a few comments. I think the greatest benefit of Instagram is the "hashtags." When people are searching "clothes" in Instagram, they can see my products if I put cloth hashtags to my pictures. Also, there is no limit to the following we can have, and we can follow our customers and share photos, so it will be easy to read customers minds and respond to customers questions.

A good reason to use Tumblr is that we can use it as a SNS and a blog. Tumblr allows good communication and opens sites so we can share many things with customers. Jason Keath said Tumblr does not work for every business, but he said Tumblr works for the fashion category. I agree with him because I can post my product pictures and everyone can easily see them. Also, I can post music and videos that relate to fashion; I will be able to interact with customers. Also I can get feedback from my customers easily.

I never heard about Pinterest before I saw this assignment. Pinterest is similar to Facebook and Twitter but based more on images than the others are. We can follow people and use the Ripin method to give information about our images to other people. Also, we can use the creation tools to decorate the photos so we can make our own photos. There are 10 commandments to using Pinterest in business. They inform us on how to use Pinterest efficiently and how to promote a business with Pinterest. I think Pinterest is good for business.

It is hard to choose from these four wonderful sites, but I think Instagram works best for my business. It is easy to use and based more on images than writing. I love their "hashtags." I think hashtags allow more people to see my products.

Week 7: Twitter

The words that I searched for follow are Fashion, Fashion Magazine, Fashion Brand. It was not so hard to find the content that I want. I found the content that I want in first time. My business is related to fashion so I followed content that related in Fashion as fashion magazines and fashion brands. The content that I followed are already large brand in world fashion market so they could know the trends before the season so I think they can help me to develop my business.

I created three lists as Fashion Magazine, Fashion Brand, and Twitter app. For the fashion magazine list, I put real fashion magazine twitter as Vogue and Elle. For the Fashion Brand list, I put fashion brands that have similar fashion type with my business. Also I create Twitter App list to put Twitter activity app. Lists are help my complicated Twitter to organized and simple Twitter. It is much easier to find the twitter that I want to find. I will keep creating lists when I follow more content.

Week 5 : Post Reach & Post Engagement

When I post my thoughts or share ads on my Facebook page, my posts appear on my friends’ newsfeeds. As a result, the total number of people who see my posts without liking or commenting is considered “Post-Reach.” Similarly, the total percentage of people who like, leave comments, or share my posts is considered “Post-Engagement.” Clearly, there is a significant difference between Post-Reach and Post-Engagement, as Post-Reach is simply the number of people who see my posts and Post-Engagement includes the number of people who like, comment on, or share my post. Therefore, comparatively, Post-Reach will always attain a higher percentage than Post-Engagement because a Facebook post automatically appears on friends’ newsfeeds, but additional effort is required to obtain “likes” or comments.

Facebook Insight is a statistics tool that offers a variety of statistics for the user while increasing the engagement of the brand. When the brand posts their new product on a Facebook page, Post-Engagement is more efficient than Post-Reach because automatic interest is generated without skipping ads. The Insight program helps to sort the percentages of Reach and Engagement, thereby improving business.
