Week 10: Email Marketing

I think send the Newsletters to customers is the most basic and important strategy in business area. I don't want to send newsletter with any personal story or topics that not related to my business. I want to send the informative types of newsletter to my customers. For my business, I would like to send Newsletter every other week or monthly by the email. In my case, I felt antipathy when the brand that I registered send me a newsletter or information often times. I don't want to bother my customers to send too much information or news by email.

I want to send newsletters when I want to showcase the new products to my customers. Then, customers can easily know there are new products in the website even they don't visit my website to check the new products are came out. Also I will let customers to know when the season off sale is start so customers can visit the websites and enjoy their shopping with discount prices. And I want to inform what other promotions are coming up. For the relationships with my customers, I want to collect my customers birthday or anniversary, so I can give them some coupons or discounts.

I think customers don't want to read long and boring letters so I will use more images with short description for the Newsletter. And then, I will give them a link that includes more information for those who want more information.

  1. Hi Hannah

I like all of your ideas, specially the link for more information.

I do not know how frequently your new products will come, but I can suggest in between also you can talk about something else, like about the uniqueness of your business, talk about the Asian clothing style, add some great images etc. This way the relationship will be maintained.Ask your past customers to provide the picture of the product they bought from you to share on your newsletter.

I always feel it should be sent on a regular interval to the customers so that they stay connected with you (may be every month or once in two months), and whenever any new product is launched you can send them the information in between.

    Nice Work

  2. Your idea of sending out a newsletter without personal info is good. Keep that information for your blog. Using a lot of pictures of your clothing line would be great to showcase in your newsletter. Having your customers send pictures of themselves in your clothing would be a good idea and a little bit of advertising. Coupons and discounts on your customer's birthdays or anniversaries is also a good way to retain loyal customers

  3. Hi Hannah, I agree that the frequency of sending an email is actually a very important topic. I subscribe to different email newsletters and some I feel are sent too often and others are sent so infrequently that I wonder who send it to me until I open it and then remember signing up!

Offering people coupons and discounts on their birthday is great. I would certainly appreciate that one!

Keeping emails short and to the point is a great idea. No reason to overwhelm the customers. Thanks for sharing!

  4. It definitely gets bothersome to a customer after awhile when there are too frequent of newsletter emails. However I must slightly disagree about the newsletter being solely business oriented, sometimes it comforts customers to see a business they love is personable like them.
